A book that honors the stories of many Negro League players including Judy Johnson, Double Duty Radcliffe, Willie Mays, Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Satchel Paige, Monte Ervin, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron… the list goes on. It’s a bittersweet book, depicting the life of all these great men who never got a chance because of the color of their skin. Some stories are inspirational, some are sad, but all are a great read and the watercolor illustrations are spectacular!
